Making the Journey Count

- Since 2010 -

We are Jade and Oli

It all started back in 2010 when Oli and I met on the beach in Vietnam. We met travelling and basically haven’t stopped since.

It’s been 7 years of adventure and we set up Journey Count as a way to document all that we were doing and to try to help others discover the joy of the journey too.

We are currently living the digital nomad life in Hanoi, Vietnam and taking weekend adventures as often as we can. We also have a dog, his name is Jimi and he loves adventure too.

So, pick up a drink, settle in and look around. We hope you enjoy the journey!

Stories from Varanasi

Arriving in Varanasi was way less crazy than we imagined it would be. From the train station, a long but cheap rickshaw ride could only take us so far. Once we reached the tight maze of alleys we strapped our bags on our backs and make our way to the river.... No one...

Don’t Miss Dong Hoi, Phong Nha’s Beachside Neighbour

Dong Hoi holds a very special place in our hearts because it is where our little pup, Jimi, is from. But there are plenty of reasons to visit that don’t include adopting dogs. So, if you are planning a trip to the majestic caves of Phong Nha National Park - and you...

Where to stay in Hoi An: Cashew Tree Bungalow

A few years ago, Oli and I felt a major shift occurring in the way we travelled. After years of penny-pinching budget travel, and countless nights spent in questionable hotel rooms (were many of them even hotels?), we were craving more. Now, our kind of ‘more’ doesn’t...
